Put your free time to good use!
Volunteers help extend the reach of our City programs and provide valuable connections to the community. There is no minimum commitment required. We want your participation to be convenient, matched to your interests, and most importantly, enjoyable. If you have time and want to make good things happen in your community, fill out a volunteer interest form to get involved!
Events
No matter what time of year it is, Tumwater always has something going on! Check out the different special events to see how you can get involved by volunteering.
Neighborhood Matching Grants
The fund is part of a City Council initiative to build neighborhoods recognized for quality and to encourage residents to build community engagement through a spirit of collaboration and innovation. Through this program, the City of Tumwater will provide grant funds (reimbursement of actual receipted expenses) that match neighborhood resources to host events or projects. Visit the Neighborhood Matching Grants page for more information.
Stewardship
The Stewardship Program encourages residents (individuals, families, organizations and businesses) to participate in a community activity by keeping roads, neighborhoods, parks, and trails litter free and well maintained. If you are interested, fill out an application today!
Youth & Recreation
There are multiple ways to volunteer and assist with our youth and recreation programs. You can volunteer at our Tumwater Youth Program (TYP) nights, serve on the Tumwater Youth Council (TYC), and be a coach for our baseball and basketball leagues.
