Safely discard expired prescription medications; donate non-perishable food reusable grocery bags (paper or plastic); shred personal documents; and recycle rechargeable devices and batteries.
It's fast, and it's free.
Stop by the Clean-up, Drop-off event, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon, Saturday, October 5, 2024, in the Tumwater City Hall parking lot at 555 Israel Road, Tumwater, WA 98501.
Drive through the parking lot at Tumwater City Hall and remain in your vehicle. Volunteers will remove items from the trunk or back of a pick-up truck.
Discard
Responsibly destroy unused prescriptions or old medications at the Tumwater Police Department’s Prescription Drop Box. Sharps will not be collected with medications.
Shred
Shred personal, sensitive or financial documents to protect against identity theft at the LeMay Mobile Shredding truck, sponsored by O Bee Credit Union. Please limit to 4 grocery size bags or banker size boxes.
Donate
Thurston County Food Bank will be accepting donations of non-perishable food: Easy grab-and-go meal items, pastas, soups, rice, canned food, mac and cheese; healthy snacks, nuts, granola, and protein bars; prepared tuna and chicken salad pouches; food items with pop-top lids.
Recycle
Do you have old rechargeable devices or lithium-ion batteries that you no longer use? Recycle your electric razor, power tools, cordless vacuum, cellphone, electric toothbrush, cordless mixer, tablet, or wireless headphones at Clean-Up, Drop-Off.
Hazardous Materials
HazoHouse is located at the Thurston County Waste and Recovery Center at 2420 Hogum Bay Road NE in Lacey, will accept and properly dispose of chemicals and toxins. This service is free for Thurston County residents.
Volunteers Needed!

Interested in being a part of Clean-up, Drop-off? We are looking for people 18 years of age or older to volunteer at this free community event:
- Directing attendees through the drop-off area
- Managing the shredding area, breaking down boxes
- Unloading donation items, sorting, and distributing to organizations
- Cleaning up after the event clean-up; taking down displays, signs, cones after the event
