Linwood Avenue Sidewalk Project
Project Description
The Linwood Avenue Sidewalk Project entails replacing sidewalks and filling in missing sidewalks along Linwood Avenue SW and adjacent streets to complete a walkable path between residential neighborhoods and Michael T Simmons Elementary School.
Work will include grinding and demolition of existing pavement; adjusting utilities; reconstructing sidewalks, curb ramps, and driveway approaches; and adding pedestrian crossings. Sidewalks will be expanded into bulb outs on the north side of Linwood at the corners of 5th, 6th, 7th, and G Streets to shorten the crossing distance for pedestrians.
The intersection of 2nd Avenue SW and Linwood Avenue SW is not included in the scope of this project but will be reconfigured as part of a future project when funds become available.
