Israel Road - Linderson Way Water Main
Current Activities
All water services have been completely transferred from the old water main to the new one, and trench and surface restorations are underway. Puget Sound Energy is nearing completion of converting overhead power to underground on Israel Road, and other private utility companies are expected to complete all their reconnections by end of July.
In August, construction begins on planned improvements to sidewalk and bicycle facilities. The full repaving of Israel Road will take place at the completion of this phase.
Project Description
The Israel Road and Linderson Way Water Main Replacement Project will replace 4,700 linear feet of water main ahead of the City’s Pedestrian & Bicycle Improvement project scheduled for 2024.
The project entails installing new water main on Israel Road from I-5 to Capitol Boulevard, and on Linderson Way from Israel Road to the Department of Labor and Industries building. Other work will includes:
- Connecting new water main to existing lines
- Installing joint utility trenches for private utilities
- Moving overhead power lines underground
- Removing and replacing sidewalks
- Repairing pavement and installing striping
Project Funding
Funding for this $3,365,536 project is primarily provided by the City of Tumwater Water Capital Facilities Plan (CFP). The undergrounding of utilities is funded in part by Puget Sound Energy.
