Cemetery Dedication | 12:00 - 12:30 p.m.

The Daughters of the American Revolution and the Sons of the American Revolution have been working hard on cleaning, restoring, and leveling all 221 headstones at Union Pioneer Calvary Cemetery. Work started in May and the two groups dedicated hundreds of hours to bring the headstones back to life. The dedication ceremony will honor the work they have done and is an opportunity to learn about why this cemetery means so much to the community.

Walk through the cemetery and stop at 8 different headstones where you will get a 3-minute history of who is buried there and what impact they had on Tumwater. The tour will take around 30 minutes and then you are free to walk the cemetery grounds exploring the 221 headstones.
