Tumwater has Neighborhood Matching Grants to help you bring your ideas to life!

The fund is part of a City Council initiative to build neighborhoods recognized for quality and to encourage residents to build community engagement through a spirit of collaboration and innovation. Through this program, the City of Tumwater will provide grant funds (reimbursement of actual receipted expenses) that match neighborhood resources (volunteer hours, in-kind donations, and purchases) at a minimum of 1:1 ratio-dollar for dollar up to the stated maximums. Applications for Project or Event Grants are accepted year-round subject to available funding. Neighborhood Matching Grants are reviewed and approved by the Recreation Manager and Volunteer Coordinator.

Mini Neighborhood Libraries

Group projects create opportunities for neighbors to meet and build relationships with each other. Re-energize your neighborhood and work together to install and stock a Mini Library. The Tumwater Neighborhood Project Grant Program provides funds to help with materials to build a Mini Neighborhood Library. Adopt and install a Mini Neighborhood Library kit or be bold and design and install your own! Gather neighbors to supply and replenish books. This is a great way to promote reading and literacy, add an artistic element in your neighborhood, and involve everyone.
