Tumwater Youth Baseball - Spring League 2024

Registration for Tumwater spring 2024 baseball league opens Tuesday, January 2 and runs through Friday, February 23.

Tumwater Parks & Recreation’s spring baseball league is open to children in grades K-5. Out of district players are accepted; however, Tumwater School District players will receive priority team placement. The season runs mid-March through mid-May.

This league offers three divisions of play for grades Kindergarten/First grade (K/1), Second/Third (2/3) grades, and Fourth/Fifth (4/5) grades. K/1st division is coach pitch for the entire season. 2nd/3rd division begins with coach pitch and progresses to kid pitch. 4th/5th division will be kid pitch only.

Registration

Open January 2 through February 23. Fee is $100 through February 23. Registration is open to children in grades K - 5. Out of District players are accepted; however, Tumwater School District players will receive priority team placement.

Practices begin week of March 18. Games begin the week of April 15. Season-ending Party at the Park on May 18. Registration fee of $100 includes shirt, pants, and hat.

Registrations after February 23

Registrations received after February 23 will be assessed a non-refundable $10 late fee. Late registrations will be accepted on an as-needed basis and players assigned to teams needing additional players. Coach or friend requests will not be accepted for registrations received after February 23.

Refunds

Up to 100% of registration fees may be refunded if requested by Friday, March 22. Partial refunds may be awarded after that date. The refund amount will be determined by Tumwater Parks & Recreation on a case-by-case basis. $10 fees assessed to registrations received after February 23 are non-refundable.

Scholarships

Team Formation

Teams are formed after the registration deadline. Players may or may not be placed on the same team, or with the same coach, as last year. One request per participant, coach or friend, will be considered if received before registration deadline of Friday, February 23. If requesting two players be placed on the same team, each must request the other. Registrations received after February 23 will be accepted on an as-needed basis and assigned to teams needing players.

Parents: Expect a call/text/email with your team information by Sunday, March 17.

Practices & Games

Practice Schedule

Practices begin the week of March 18. Teams practice two times per week, typically weeknights, with the possibility of Saturdays. All practices will be held at City of Tumwater Park fields. Practice schedule will be linked below when available. Please note that rainouts for practices are made at the coaches' discretion.

Game Schedules

Games begin the week of April 15 and run through May 18. They will be played on weeknights, with some Saturdays. Once games begin, coaches will decide whether or not to continue practices. As rainouts occur, the revised schedule will be updated and accessed via the link below.

Equipment & Pictures

Equipment

Full uniforms (shirt, pants, and hat) are included in the registration fee. Parents will need to provide a baseball glove (cleats are optional.) Batting helmets are provided; however, some parents choose to purchase a helmet for their child to avoid the risk of exposure to head lice.

Pictures

Individual and team pictures will be offered on Saturday, April 20. Coaches will be notified of their team’s picture time once the schedule is confirmed.

The Tumwater Baseball league cannot operate without volunteer involvement. Parents and interested community members are invited to get involved as a coach and create a positive experience for the youth of this community.
