Tumwater Board of Parks & Recreation Commissioners
The Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners is established by the authority of TMC Chapter 2.72. The Board advises the City Council on expansion and operation of the City’s parks, recreational facilities and programs; control and supervision of all parks belonging to the City; planning, promotion, management and acquisition, construction, development, maintenance and operations, including restrictions on, and compensation to be paid for, concessions or privileges in parks and/or playgrounds.
Terms & Residency
This Board consists of seven commissioners, serving three-year terms, who are appointed by the Mayor with confirmation by the City Council. Commissioners must reside within the City limits with the exception of two members, who may reside in the Tumwater UGA, as defined in Ordinance No. O2007-011.
