Below is a map with color-coded ratings that identify pavement conditions of Tumwater streets. The Transportation and Engineering Department used a standardized tool called the Pavement Conditions Index (PCI) to produce this inventory. Ratings are derived from generalizing samples of on-site pavement evaluations. This inventory is used as a starting place to set priorities for street maintenance. Click the double arrow "»" below to view the rating key. Streets marked in red (poor), orange (fair), and yellow (good), and some green (very good) are all candidates for preservation and maintenance measures. Streets marked in red (poor) generally require paving or reconstruction.
