Our performance

Finding methods to measure the effectiveness of public service is an ongoing challenge. Our goal is to use performance data to help city leaders establish goals and outcomes in budget decisions; set targets of performance; compare to and learn from other jurisdictions, and communicate service and financial improvement to our residents.

To expand management tools, the city of Tumwater consulted the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) Center for Performance Measurement (CPM) program. The CPM program provides a database to compare Tumwater’s city services to the outcomes of nearly 150 other local governments.

The city continues to develop and refine tools to measure and report our performance. The links below provide information about a few of the ways we seek feedback on performance.
