Tumwater Planning Commission
The Planning Commission acts as an advisory body to the Council on all land use, comprehensive planning issues, and any other interesting items which the Council feels may need Planning Commission review. The Commission is an integral part of the implementation of the Growth Management Act. The Commission was created in accordance with RCW Chapter 35.63 and Tumwater Municipal Code (TMC) Chapter 2.56.
Terms & membership
The Planning Commission consists of nine members who serve four-year terms and are appointed by the mayor with confirmation of the City Council. TMC 2.56 requires that members reside within the City limits, and one member may reside within the City limits or the Tumwater UGA. In accordance with state law, planning commissioners are unpaid volunteers.

Planning commission meetings
Regular meetings are scheduled on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 7 p.m. at Tumwater City Hall, 555 Israel Road SW, Tumwater, WA 98501.
