Tumwater Citizen's Academy: LITE • 10/12/2024 • 9am - 3pm

In the past, the Tumwater Citizen's Academy has consisted of ten sessions over the course of 5 weeks in a lecture format. This year, we have decided to do something a little different - Citizen's Academy LITE - A one day, choose-your-own-curriculum program geared towards providing a overview of what we do every day at the Tumwater Police Department.

In the morning, attendees will be able to choose two specialized classes on topics such as Patrol Operations, Investigations, and Support Operations. After a lunch break, the afternoon will consist of varied demonstrations, from our K9 team to DUI investigations. Q&A sessions will also be offered with staff and officers alike as well as an opportunity to chat with our Chief and Commander.
