Resource Management Division

The Resource Management Division is responsible for records management, administrative functions and budget support for all divisions within the department. This division is responsible for managing information pertaining to personnel, payroll, fiscal management, emergency response data and public information. 

FEMA Reporting

This Division is also the primary Federal Emergency Management Act (FEMA) contact during natural disasters. We work closely with the Emergency Management Director at the state and regional level to coordinate/organize City-wide assessment and recovery documentation. The Resource Management Division is the program administrator for the department’s Fire-Reporting Software, as well as being responsible for completing the required annual National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) data in an accurate and timely manner. 

Commercial Inspections

Resource management is responsible for monitoring the submitted fire/sprinkler/range hood inspections of commercial occupancies within the City, in addition to the aforementioned duties.  The Assistant Fire Chief sends notification to property owners regarding inspections that have been completed, and notes deficiencies for their systems. The occupant then has 10 days to provide documentation of repairs, or a plan to accomplish said repairs to the Fire Department. Follow-up contact is made with the property owners and/or inspection companies until all deficiencies have been corrected and the system is operational. The department recently instituted a Fire Safety Inspection Program to help the Tumwater business community to prevent fires.
