Stormwater programs protect our precious water resources. Stormwater fees are included in Tumwater water utility bill. Some property owners also maintain a storm pond, independently or through a neighborhood association.

Garbage & Recycling
Thurston County Solid Waste and Recovery Center (Public) & Hazo House

Self-haul solid waste and recycling to the facility seven days per week. The Hazo House has special hours of operation and takes most hazardous household substances.  Browse to Thurston County Solid Waste program website for more information.

Trash Collection
For curbside hauling, recycling and composting. LeMay/Pacific Disposal/Waste Connections, Inc. provides curbside trash and recycling collection to Tumwater and Thurston County residents. Call (360) 923-0111 or email cust2183@wasteconnections.com.

Internet, Cable, Satellite, and Telecommunications
Several private service providers are available in the community that provide television, cable, internet and telephone services. Some companies lease underground utility conduit from the city. The City has a special franchise agreement with Comcast cable services that provides public education funding to support Tumwater TV, Channel 26 (Comcast only), operated by Thurston Community Television (TCTV). The City can provide limited liaison assistance in resolving escalated service requests with Comcast. Contact the Executive Department at (360) 754-4120 for details.

Tumwater Public Schools  
Tumwater is the third largest school district in Thurston County, serving over 6,000 students with six preschool-grade 6 elementary schools, two grade 7-8 middle schools, two grade 9-12 high schools and Secondary Options alternative school.  Tumwater is also the home of the New Market Skills Center, which provides career and technical education for 25 high schools in ten local districts.
